The importance of bushfire preparedness inspired many design elements in this colourful and energy efficient home, located on the side of a hill in stunning dense bushland.

A stylish use of textured masonry walls and corrugated iron ceilings created a unique and modern look, along with spotted gum timber which is less flammable than other species. The corrugated iron ceilings were continued as a design element in the fireplace surrounds? and mini-orb kitchen front.

Energy efficient features included the use of brick walls to increase the building’s thermal mass and quality insulation between the corrugated roof and metal ceilings.
